WASHATYPE is a geometric sans serif designed and previously used for personal branding.
i was inspired by century gothic, gotham, avenir, and ITC avant garde. i had the intention of creating something mathematically and visually symmetrical. washatype has a tall x-height with classical proportions, but not based on a perfect circle. the height of the o is taller than it’s width. the ascenders are the same as the cap height. the stems ascend to the cap height as well. descenders, however, are longer than the length between the x-height and cap height. there is no modulation in stroke. washatype also has round ends, vertices, and apices.
